TEDx Black Mountain 2026 Open Call – Rules of Entry

Do you have a story or idea worth spreading? This is your chance to take the stage at TEDx Black Mountain 2026. Our Open Call Competition is designed to find fresh voices and powerful stories that deserve to be heard.


Below you’ll find all the details you need to enter.

1. Entry Requirements

  • Submit a 30-second video abstract of your talk idea.

  • The abstract should capture the essence of your idea in a clear and engaging way.

  • Videos must be recorded in English.

  • Submissions open on 11th November 2025 and close on 11th December 2025.

2. Selection Process

  • A panel of judges will review all submissions.

  • 10 finalists will be chosen to compete in the Live Speak-Off Event in February 2026.

  • These 10 finalists will be joined by 2 Golden Ticket winners from the TEDx Black Mountain Live event in November 2025.

  • At the live event, each finalist will deliver a 2-minute talk on stage.


3. Golden Ticket Option

  • At the TEDx Live Event (11th November 2025), attendees can put their name forward for the Golden Ticket draw.

  • You must be present and willing to compete in February — no entry form required!

  • Two winners will be selected live on the night and will advance directly to the finals, joining the 10 chosen from the Open Call.


4. Live Event Recording

  • The Live Speak-Off Event in February 2026 will be professionally recorded.

  • Content may be shared across social media and TEDx Black Mountain platforms.

  • By entering, you grant permission for your performance and likeness to be used in this way.


5. Eligibility

  • Entrants must be at least 18 years old (or have permission from a parent/guardian).

  • Talks must align with the TEDx ethos: original, well-formed, and non-commercial ideas worth spreading.

  • Submissions that promote products, services, or political agendas will not be considered.


6. Finals

  • The 12 finalists (10 selected + 2 Golden Ticket winners) will compete in the Live Speak-Off Event.

  • Judges will select the final speaker(s) who will join the official TEDx Black Mountain 2026 line-up.
